Livermore Valley is one of California’s oldest wine regions starting from 1760s, and play a important role in shaping California’s wine industry.

Robert Livermore planted the first commercial vines in the 1840s. Pioneer winemakers C. H. Wente, James Concannon, and Charles Wetmore recognized potential in this area and established their wineries in the early 1880s.Livermore Valley captured America’s first international gold medal for wine in 1889 at the Paris Exposition, putting California on the world wine map.

Among beautiful canyons and ridges, the grape vines and tasting rooms define the quality of lifestyle in the valley. To the delight visitors and residence, the region is enjoying a wine renaissance back to the golden years of early California wine history.

More than 40+ wineries is inviting you to visit friendly tasting room and experience the enthusisam to make the good quality wines.

Today, thanks to the efforts of the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association, vineyards and wineries are prevalent throughout the community. Some of the kids I grew up with are now winemakers themselves, sharing in a tradition that has its roots in the 1840s when local rancher Robert Livermore planted the first commercial vines.
